Tampa’s Riverfront History Tour
Take a deep dive into Tampa’s history along the Hillsborough River with Tampa Bay History Center’s Curator Rodney Kite-Powell. The 1-hour cruise will include narration by Rodney as guests view the sights of Downtown Tampa from the Pirate Water Taxi. The cruise will set sail from stop 7 located at the Tampa Convention Center where guests will cruise north to Armature Works. On the return trip guests will catch a glimpse of the Tampa Bay History Center before returning to Stop 7.
About Rodney: Rodney Kite-Powell is Director of the Touchton Map Library and the Saunders Foundation Curator of History at the Tampa Bay History Center, where he joined the staff in 1994. He received a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Florida and a Master of Arts in History from the University of South Florida. Born and raised in Tampa, he has written extensively on the history of Tampa and Hillsborough County and is the editor of Tampa Bay History, a regional history journal.
